Ready, Set, Go – It’s National Fitness Day!

It’s National Fitness Day and we are about to get active! 

 Today, the UK is coming together to take simple steps to a more active and healthier lifestyle.  

 On this day, we celebrate the importance of highlighting both the physical and mental benefits of being active. According to recent studies 25% of adults in the UK are classed as physically inactive.  

 It is no secret that staying active regularly can be quite challenging – when your motivation slips or the weather gets worse and you can think of a million reasons why you shouldn’t get active, then here are some top tips for getting that motivation mojo back: 

 1. Put your workout clothes on  

Don’t think about it, just get dressed! You’ll be surprised the sudden motivation that you can get from just pulling on those trainers! 

 2. Write down how you feel every time you work out 

Record your workouts and monitor how far you’ve come and don’t forget to reward yourself! 

 3. Take the stairs 

Waiting for the lift or queuing for the escalators is sometimes the most natural thing to do, especially after a long day at work. However, small changes like taking the stairs can make a big difference.  

 4. Change it up! 

Don’t do the same workout all the time. Mix it up and try something new, this keeps it fresh and exciting. 

 5. Find a workout buddy 

Working out in a group or as a pair can be the secret to staying fit, motivating each other or having a team to support you can really help you achieve your fitness goals!
